Artifice is made up of fictional characters that stage scenes to question nuclear family, gender and the body politic. With characters that are neither here nor there, evidence of birth and reproduction are omitted, leaving the shell of something intimately familiar. Paraphernalia of the image making is often left in this series as evidence of process.
